The Commission has received donations and grants from private citizens, corporations and the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, with the help of former City Councilmember Albert Vann and current City Councilmember Robert Cornegy.
Your donation is tax deductible. The Commission is a federal 501(c)(3) corporation and is duly registered with the Charities Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's office.

The Central Brooklyn Martin Luther King Commission has been a volunteer-led organization since its founding by Congressman Major Owens in 1985.
All donations or grants to the organization have been used to operate events and provide awards and gifts to Brooklyn's students.
Facing the next 30 years, the Commission is looking to "upgrade" its operations and what it can provide to Brooklyn's youth. To continue and expand our work, your help is needed.
